Week 5: Human Programming and 3 Sensor Build - Part 1



Week # 5
In this exciting week of robotics had to program one of the instructors from Tufts to get to a granola bar so she could eat it.  (She hadn’t eaten all day!!  )Then we had to build cars again using the “brain”.  Our car included two motor so it could turn.  The vehicle had to possess Wally (the distance sensor facing forward, the light sensor facing downward, and the light sensor facing in any direction we wanted.  We then gave commands to the brain to stop when the car ran over a black piece of paper(caused by the light sensor).  We got to keep our robots to continue working on them the next class.  We all had a blast.

   The fifth week in robotics we did a programming exercise where the “robot” had to walk across the room and eat a granola bar. It seems easy but only a few groups made it. Then we made a car that had to have the distance sensor (Walle) , the touch sensor and the light sensor . It also needed to have two motors so it could turn . After we assembled our cars we went on programming them . They had to be able to stop when they went in a black sheet of paper . Everyone’s car was a success and they all looked amazing and unique .

Week 4: First Program



In our fourth week we explore programming a car through the NXT website online. We were able to download moves from the computer to the "brain". It was able to even sense when it got close to a wall. It was really cool, it was moving the second we told it to start through the computer.

The fourth week in robotics we programmed NXTs with computers ,and added touch sensors and visual sensors. After putting all the settings together we finally got the opportunity to try the NXT out. After we all succeeded we could build a car or something that has wheels.
